Great Eastern Cutlery is a relative newcomer to the cutlery industry, but is quickly becoming well known for their old-world quality.  Down the road from Queen Cutlery in Titusville, Pennsylvania; Great Eastern has turned the empty building previously occupied by Cyclops Specialty Steel into a pocket knife powerhouse.
Production started at Great Eastern Cutlery in 2006, with the first final products leaving the factory in the spring of 2007.  Great Eastern knives were immediately recognized by dealers and collectors alike as a heavy duty throwback to cutlery from the early 1900's.  Their company-owned brand names are Northfield UN-X-LD Cutlery, Tidioute Cutlery, and Great Eastern Cutlery.  All three have been actively produced since they opened their doors.

Great Eastern Cutlery is no "order in and ship out" business.  They stamp out their own parts; etch / stamp their own trademarks; cut / jig their own horn, bone, stag, and wood handle slabs; and essentially all other operations associated with producing a pocket knife from raw materials.

Pocket knives made by Great Eastern Cutlery are perfectly at home in the front pocket or in the display case.  Made in a heavy duty frame with components, and in a fashion, to be used for a lifetime with proper care.  The skilled Great Eastern craftsmen produce several hundred works of art each week.  The knife variations produced have quickly made available a model for every use.

You can see a sampling of the patterns produced by Great Eastern on this page.  They tang stamp each knife with a Great Eastern Cutlery pattern number unique to that particular frame and blade combination.  This allows users and collectors of Great Eastern knives to immediately realize which combination is available given only the pattern number.

Great Eastern Cutlery also documents actual production totals at the end of each year.  These numbers are available on the Great Eastern Production Totals page.

Next time you are in the market for a fine American made pocket knife, pick up a Northfield UN-X-LD, Tidioute Cutlery, or Great Eastern Cutlery knife.  They have a lifetime guarantee against defective components or build.
